Teddie has owned and worked with horses since she was six years old. Her first horse came home with her, after being abandoned, and lived in her parent’s garage until they could build a barn. She has continued to have at least one horse, or more, in her life since then. Teddie competed in many English disciplines growing up, wining ribbons and trophies in Jumping, English Pleasure, Show Hunter and Classical Dressage.
Originally from Maryland, Teddie moved to California in 1990 where she worked with Western disciplined trainers and competed in Western Equitation, Western Pleasure, Cutting and Team Penning. Then in 2016, Teddie moved back to Maryland and has continued to help horses and humans around the world through her online programs and her one-to-one personal training. Over the many years of owning horses, she has taught basic horsemanship, safety, relationship training and riding lessons to both adults and children.
Teddie has a Bachelor’s degree, and a Masters degree, in Behavioral Psychology and enjoys combining her educational background with her passion and love of horses. She helps people all over the world with personal and horse related issues, understanding themselves and their horses together.
Teddie has studied with many well-known trainers around the world. She says that she is always in a state of learning from both humans and horses and will continue until the day she dies.
Teddie is passionate about helping humans and horses alike to get to know each other better and communicate on a more equal level. This passion has taken her on to her next phase of life teaching and sharing with others what she has learned during her 45+ years with horses.
Her desire to help other people like herself, looking for the next link in their education, has pushed her to travel and give clinics around the world. Now that she has traveled for a few years, practiced and implemented her way with horses at clinics, she has decided to put together an online program. This allows more people access to her way with horses all over the world and the ability to share her experiences.
Freedom in relationships, how you and your horse feel, and most importantly your intentions are the keys to this new way of being with your horse. Not to mention, having a lot of fun at the same tim! 🙂
